Dirham Diaries is a personal blog published at thedirhamdiaries.com. It is operated by an individual, not a company. For any question about this policy or about your data, contact hello@thedirhamdiaries.com.
2. What this policy covers
This policy explains what information is collected when you visit this site, why, and what happens to it. It applies only to thedirhamdiaries.com and not to any third-party site you may reach through a link here.
3. Information collected automatically
This site is hosted by Hostinger. Like virtually all web hosts, Hostinger’s servers automatically record technical information each time a page is requested, including your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, the page requested, the referring page, and the date and time of the request.
These server logs are generated and retained by the hosting provider for security, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention. They are not used to identify individual readers, and they are not combined with any other information to build a profile of you. Hostinger’s own privacy practices are governed by its policy, available on its website.
4. Cookies
This site does not set advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies.
WordPress, the software this site runs on, may set functional cookies in limited circumstances — for example, if you are logged in as an administrator, or if a comment form is used. These are strictly functional and are not used to track you across other websites.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Doing so will not affect your ability to read this site.
5. Caching and performance
This site uses caching technology provided by the host to serve pages more quickly. Caching stores copies of pages on the server; it does not collect personal information about you.
6. Information you provide voluntarily
If you email hello@thedirhamdiaries.com, your message and email address are received in an inbox and retained so that correspondence can be answered and referred back to. They are not added to any mailing list, sold, shared, or used for marketing. If you would like your correspondence deleted, ask and it will be.
7. What is not collected
To be explicit about the current state of this site: there is no newsletter or email signup, no user registration or accounts, no advertising network, no analytics platform, no social media tracking pixels, and no payment processing. No personal data is sold or shared with third parties for commercial purposes under any circumstances.
8. Third-party links
Posts may link to external websites, including banks, government portals, and service providers. Once you follow such a link, this policy no longer applies. Those sites operate under their own privacy policies, which you should review.
9. Affiliate links
This site does not currently use affiliate links. Should that change, this policy will be updated to explain what tracking is involved, and any affiliate content will be clearly disclosed within the relevant post.
10. Children
This site is intended for an adult audience and is not directed at children under 16. No information is knowingly collected from children.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data held about you, and to object to its processing. Given how little information this site holds, in practice this is limited to correspondence you have sent by email. To exercise any such right, write to hello@thedirhamdiaries.com.
12. Data retention
Email correspondence is retained for as long as it remains useful for the purpose it was sent, or until you request its deletion. Server logs are retained by the host according to its own retention schedule.
13. Changes to this policy
This site is new and will develop. Analytics, advertising, or an email newsletter may be added in future, and each would involve additional data collection. This policy will be updated before or at the time any such change takes effect, and the date at the top will be revised accordingly.
